We all know the hoops we have to jump through to log into our accounts . . . typing in an email, a password, and then waiting for a security code to hit our phone.
Now, many apps take it a step further by requiring an authenticator. (Not sure what that is? Check out this post.)
The problem with authenticators happens when you need to share an account. If only one person has the authenticator app on their phone, both of you have to be available at the exact moment someone wants to log in. Why? Because authenticators generate a new passcode every 30 seconds. That is usually way too fast to reliably message the code to someone else before it expires.
I ran into this issue recently and went searching for an answer. I found a couple of great options, but because everyone’s tech setup is different, the steps can be a bit tricky to explain in a single post.
So, instead of trying to map out all the variables here, I’m offering a free 15 minute call to give you a customized solution. Just comment “Authenticator” when registering.
