We’ve all gotten an email containing an invitation, deadline, or appointment detail and thought: I need to put that on my calendar before I forget.
Instead of manually copying and pasting the details, you can use drag-and-drop to turn an email straight into a calendar event.
Here is how to do it in the most popular email apps:
Microsoft Outlook (Desktop): Click and hold the email in your inbox list, then drag it down to the Calendar icon. Release it, and Outlook will automatically generate a new event draft with the email’s subject as the title and the message body in the notes section.
Apple Mail + Calendar (Mac): Click and hold the email from your inbox list, then drag it onto the Calendar app. Drop it on your preferred date to create an instant event draft.
Gmail + Google Calendar (Web): Open the email in your web browser. On the top of the message, click the 3 dots. Click “Create an event”, and Gmail will automatically port over the subject line and link back to the original email.
