Is it AI or is it programming? We use AI in so many places and don’t even realize it, from streaming services to web searches to navigation apps and everything in between.
Today, let’s take a look at Journeys in MailChimp. You might argue that Journeys are not AI and you might have a point, but humor me for a moment.
A Journey in MailChimp takes a customer’s supplied email address and move it through a series of events, such as:
Tagging and Grouping – Used for tracking a customer’s activities
Sending Emails, Surveys, or SMS – Used to engage a customer
Watching for Links to be Clicked – Used to further the experience
These events can be put together in a Journey that automatically steps a customer through a nurturing sequence. Once set up, you don’t have to do any of the manual labor to engage the customer.
To set up a Journey in MailChimp:
Open your MailChimp (paid) Account
Click Automation
Click All Journeys
Click “Build from Scratch” or “Choose Pre-Built Journey”
Select the pieces that will become your Journey
Starting Point
Emails, tags, etc.
Wait and Splits, if your plan allows
When done, Click Continue
Click Turn On
Test your Journey
You can think of it as programming logic or you can call it AI. Either way, it makes your business run smoother and saves you some time. I call that a win!
