Dropbox – A Piece of the Cloud

One of the best things about cloud storage is the ability to get to your files and photos from anywhere.  Simply log into your account and access your files from any computer.  It really is that simple.

Dropbox* is one of top cloud storage services that allows you to save files online and access them from any device.

There are other apps with features similar to Dropbox, such as OneDrive and Google Drive. In fact, I use all three, each for a different purpose. The main reason I chose the paid version of Dropbox for my business was the need for ample storage space. It was more cost-effective than Google Drive and provided a cloud-based solution outside of the “Google ecosystem,” making it easier to share files with clients who prefer not to use Google services.

The biggest drawback to Dropbox, for me, was the amount of space in the free tier.  2GB just wasn’t enough.  The free plan is still a good option though if you want to use it as an alternative for another app, such as Google Drive.

Dropbox has some great tools available in their app.  The scan feature is one of my favorites.  It allows me to scan receipts directedly into my drive, easing the bookkeeping process.  If you know me, that is a win in my book.
