You Always Needs Some Cookies

Cookie management is on almost every website these days.  You might want to read through what you are agreeing to if you regularly click “Allow All”.

It’s a bit more work, but reading through the options and unchecking some of the items and clicking “Save My Preferences” might help protect you over time.

Below is a list of cookie categories.  I generally allow the first two categories and decline the others.

  • Strictly necessary cookies

Allow users to view a website’s content and use its features. These cookies are essential and cannot be disabled.

  • Preference cookies

Also known as functional cookies, these cookies store user preferences to personalize features and improve functionality. They are anonymous and do not track user data.

  • Statistics cookies

Also known as performance cookies, these cookies collect anonymized data on how a user visits a website. They track which links a user clicks and which pages they visit, but do not attach the user’s identity to the data.

  • Advertising cookies

These cookies are used to optimize website functionality, analyze website performance, and provide personalized advertisements.

Alternatively, if the website has a “Do Not Sell My Data” button, that will usually remove the Advertising and Statistics cookies with just one click.

It’s worth your time to read through the options.
