Having friends and family over for the holidays and wanting to share your Wi-Fi with them? Android users can try this instead of giving the actual password:
Go to the Wi-Fi Settings
Tap the Settings icon next to the network’s name
At the bottom of the screen, click the QR Code
The person who wants to join the network can go to their Wi-Fi Settings menu and tap the scanner button in the top right corner of the screen.
More advanced, but a better option:
Create a “guest” network on your router that has limited access and no sharing permissions. Share that login and password with your holiday guests. When the party is over change the password, or better yet, delete the “guest” network. Step-by-step instructions should be available from your router’s manufacturer.
