The Problem: Browser tab clutter builds up fast. Having 30+ tabs open isn’t just visually distracting — it slows down your computer.
Do This Instead: Use built-in tab suspension features instead of keeping everything active.
Chrome/Edge:
- Click on the 3 dots in the top right corner
- Go to Settings and click on Performance
- Scroll down to Memory Saver and turn it on
- Leave the selection at Balanced
- Close the tab
Safari:
- Click the Sidebar icon in the top-left corner
- Click the + (Plus) button next to Tab Groups in the sidebar and choose New Tab Group from [X] Tabs
- Give it a title
- Click back to your regular start page. The tabs in your saved group stop consuming active memory while remaining pinned in your sidebar.
