Have You Cleared the Cache?

We’ve all been there . . . the website isn’t working and someone asks “Have you tried clearing the cache?” I know it is the first question I ask when someone says their website doesn’t look right. It’s equivalent to “Have you tried rebooting?”

You could dig through the browser menus to find the Clear Cache button or you could press:

Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows)

Cmd + Shift + Delete (Mac)

This will bring up the window that allows you to clear cache in your browser. There you will have the option to clear just the last few minutes of cache or the last several days.

You will also have the option to delete cookies. Cookies are the information stored about you such as language preference and items stored in the cart.

NOTE: If your browser ignores the keyboard shortcut, you will have to find the Delete Browsing Data in the menu. In most browsers it will be under the 3 dots/dashes in the top corner of your browser.
