Seeing is no longer believing.
With the newest updates to AI Image Generators, there are so many COOL things you can do . . . merge up 14 images to create a new image, change backgrounds, adjust camera angles, and the list goes on and on.
With the newest updates to AI Image Generators, there are so many SCARY things you can do . . .
Whether you see the updates as cool or scary, isn’t the point. The point is that you can no longer believe something is real just because you saw an image or video of it.
There are lots of side by side examples that ask you to pick which one is real and which one is AI generated. The answers used to be obvious, if you knew what you were looking for . . . misshapen hands, oddly angled joints, lighting not quite right, oddly sized items, etc.
But now the best you can do is guess. Sometimes there is something that tips you off, but more times that not, its just a guess. You now need to ask yourself “Could this be real?”, “Is this physically possible?”, “Is this likely?” You need to trust your sources. And you need to use a lot of critical thinking.
If it didn’t clearly say AI-Generated on this image, would you KNOW that these people weren’t actually people?

How about this one?

The image in the middle is the actual person. Is the image on the right or the image on the left AI generated? (answer at the bottom)
It’s hard to tell, right?
The best you can do is question “Could this be real?”, “Is this physically possible?”, “Is this likely?”.
Seeing is no longer believing.
