This week is International Fraud Awareness Week, so I thought it would be a great time to remind you of important steps you can take to avoid falling victim to fraud:
NEVER give personal or account information to anyone calling YOU, even if the caller says it is for “verification purposes.”
Do NOT call phone numbers or click on links provided in text messages, emails, or voicemails by the person contacting you. Never reply to an unsolicited text message.
Use multifactor authentication, such as a security code sent to you via text message or email. Other multifactor authentication measures can include a scan of your fingerprint, retina, or face on a mobile device or a passcode via an authentication app.
These easy steps will help you keep your personal and financial accounts safe from fraud.
